IP Address Classes
There are five classes of IP addresses:
Class A In the first bit of a class and address is set to 0 always. It leaves only seven bits for the address's network portion. Class A addresses differ from 0.0.0.0–127.0.0.0.0. This means there can be only 128 numbers in the network.
Class B The first bit of an address in class B is always set to 1 and the second bit to 0. It does say 16,384 networks, and you can assign the Class B addresses here. The numbers vary between the 188.8.131.52-184.108.40.206.
Class C addresses are set to 1 for the first two bits, and the third to 0. This means that this address type can be assigned to 2,097,152 networks. The numbers vary from 192.0.0.0-220.127.116.11.
Class D The first three bits of Class D addresses are set to 1, and 0 is set to the fourth bit. For multicasting applications, the Class D addresses are used. The numbers range from 18.104.22.168 – 22.214.171.124 and are reserved for groups with multicast.
Class E addresses are for research and testing purposes only and have never been used in any standard form.
What is the C Class IP?
Class A and B are assigned to entities of enormous and medium scale. Class C is the most common address class allocated to small businesses and the most commonly used IP addresses. Small and medium-sized internet service providers buy a pool of Class C IP addresses that are assigned to their clients. Internet Service Providers provide their clients with dynamic (shared) IP addresses.
The reason for this is they're cheaper and more popular since they're shared. Second, people allocated IP addresses aren't using them 24/7. So, when a user signs or there is no traffic to a website, they delegate their IP addresses to other users and sites.
The advantages with Class dynamic IP addresses are that they are more straightforward and more practical for websites and consumers that are not Internet heavy users. If you have five people sharing a WIFI in your house, a complex address will be allocated to you, and if you don't use the internet, your address will be assigned to another person who just logs in.
When you use the internet again, a different IP address will be allocated to you. This IP address will be allocated to your Internet service provider from the available pool of Class C IP addresses purchased.
How does it work?
If you've just purchased a website hosting service, you'll be inquisitive to find out which websites share the same C-class IP address. Because this type of IP address is most likely assigned to your website, and the address is shared with other sites.
You can use a bulk of seotoolls.com IP-checker. Just go from your search browser to seotoolls.com, and scroll to and click on the ' Class C IP Checker ' icon. Or you can copy/paste seotoolls.com/class-c-IP-checker/ into your search browser's address bar.
You must enter a minimum of two and a maximum of twenty domain names in the display page. Click the' Check Now' button after entry of the domain names. The service runs the check, and the results are returned. It will display the hostnames you entered in the tests, and will show their IP address, Class C and status against each hostname. The results will show you the hosts who share the same C-class IP address and if the status is' true' then all is good. A duplicate IP address checker is useful for knowing which other web sites use the same IP address.
